CSUSM students reveal 2019 beer survey results

Students from CSUSM recently did a survey with 100 beer drinking participants on all things related to beer! Here's what they found!

To start here are some demographics amongst beer drinkers  

The majority of the 100 participants surveyed were male (66%) aging between 21 and 25 years old. These results are consistent with a recent 2018 Brewers Association survey, where they found that 69% were male. 

Hey, at least the majority of beer drinkers aren't alcoholics!!!

Beer drinkers are consuming about 2 to 3 beers every week (and only 10% are drinking beer daily).  A 2018 beer survey from brewhound.com had almost identical results with 45% consuming their favorite beer weekly. 

It doesn't really matter where, as long as there's beer...duh!

No one location sticks out as being a preferred place for beer drinkers. However, amongst the brewery preferred beer drinkers (23%), 62% look forward to the social interaction, while only 30% look forward to the fresh beer.

Beer College? Not quite, but here's what participants are interested in learning.

It's all about IPA's and the taste!

Amongst the 100 participants, 38% agreed that IPA's are favorited, with Belgian-style, Hefeweizens, and others having less popularity. The most important factor when enjoying a beer was taste (49%), while the price is only an essential factor to 2% (no wonder prices are rising)!
